Message This is going to be kinda long so sorry. Scroll all the way down if you don't want to read all this stuff. Anyways I haven't posted in a while but have been lurking. I finally got the Z running again and put some miles on the new motor. Seb fit me in for some work and a dyno tune Thursday and Friday. I am sure glad I got in. I have been waiting for this.

First off I have never met Greg or Seb so all I knew about them was their reputations and dealing with them on the phone. Lets just say their reputations precede them. I pulled in to their shop around 10 am on Thursday. First thing I see is Z's, Greg's VERY dirty SUV and a Skyline with a turbo so big it doubles as a paper weight in a hurricane.

Their receptionist (sorry Darryl I had to) brings me back into the shop where Seb is working on a car, talking on the phone, talking to Darryl and Greg and answering another phone. I was amazed at how this doesn't rattle him and his ability to multi task is incredible. He starts talking to me while doing 3 other things. I can't walk and chew gum at the same time so this amazes me.

Seb goes lets pull your car in and start working on it. I drive my car in and pop the hood. I walk to the front of the car and before I get there Seb starts pulling hoses. I just sit there quietly for a while. He has my car diagnosed in less than 3 minutes. He tells me what he is going to do and I say do it. Anyways he works on it for about 1 hour and Greg comes over and says it is time to go to lunch.

We take 2 cars and Greg gives me a ride in his black old school convertible (don't know what it was) to this local place that had great food and alot of local talent as Greg put it. My head was on a swivel. At lunch Greg educates me on the workings of the air flow system and his 3" exhaust. He convinces me I have a restriction so we decide to switch it. As I have them both there I pick their brains (in between looking around *wink*wink) on Z's and how different systems operate. Greg is a wealth of information. I love hearing him talk about Z's. I not only came down to get my car worked on but also to learn. He has no problem teaching.

I wont tell what happened that night so lets fast forward to the next day shall we?

Seb picks me up in his 300 outside the Marriot. I hear him coming down the street. All I can say is WOW!! His Grey 300 is flawless. The body work and paint job are immaculate. We drive to the shop. On the way there he gets on it for me. I remember telling him, "Bro, what the hell do you have in this thing? This thing is a rocket" The car really impressed me. The acceleration on the street was blinding. Seb tells me "I have the Sport 500's with the 3" on. You think this is fast? Your car will be a rocket." I smiled and started thinking Hmmm? Is he serious? The only thing I didn't like about Seb's car was I couldn't fit in the seats. It was like squeezing 10 pounds of shit in a 5 pound bag but I managed to conform for the few short minutes. I love that car.

We get back to the shop and Seb shows me what he has done. I was alot! I mean alot! He completely built me a custom Twin POP set up because of my Type RFL's, rerouted all the boost hoses and solenoids, put the 3" downpipes and testpipes on and so much more I won't bother you with. I can picture him working on my car while doing 3 other things.

While I am there I meet about 5 other Z guys. Really cool guys. Greg's beast is sitting in the shop. What a beauty. Greg starts giving me recommendations on tires. He says because of my power level I should look into a couple different manufactures so I can put the power to the ground. A few minutes later Greg says lets do lunch before going to the Dyno. So here I am driving behind Seb with a cord hanging out my window going underneath the car on the way to lunch. Got a couple of looks and some smiles with that one. I could just imagine having to explain that one to a cop. Cord hanging out and all this electrical stuff on the passenger floorboard. Anyways Greg, Seb, Brian and I eat at a place that had the best fucking Tri-Tip I have ever had. Great conversations at the table by the way guys. Lol.....

We get to the dyno. Here is where the fun starts. Now lets just say right now I know I am out of my element. I have never been to a dyno so here is where I start to learn. I pick a chair and head to the corner. I give Greg and Seb the space to do what they do best without me interrupting them. More Z guys pull up. Dean, Billy etc...

The first run was at base boost with the boost controller off on 91 octane. Greg calls me over to the screen and shows me the numbers. 455 RWHP. Don't remember the torque. I smile and he says this is good and I will be smiling later too.

After a few more tweaking I believe we ended up at 479 RWHP on 91 octane. The printer was broken so Seb is e-mailing me the charts. Greg says because of the 97 degrees in the shop there is no need to push it any more even though he could. I grab my seat in the corner and watch Seb drain my pump gas. Greg grabs the Q16 and pours it in my tank in between huffing it, Lol. I tell him how he isn't the only one. I huff that shit everyday at work. Greg once again is teaching. He starts explaining the gas and how it operates differently than others.

First run off the Q16 came back 617 RWHP and low 500's on torque. I believe we were at 20 or 22 lbs of boost. Greg is really happy about this. He calls me over to the screen and starts teaching again. He says there is alot more room to play. This is only the first run.

Second run came back 650 RWHP and the torque climbed too. Seb gives me a thumbs up and a smile. Greg explains to me how to read a dyno and says this is a strong motor and everything is operating perfectly. I grab my chair for the last run.

Third run came back but Greg didn't call me over right away. He started laughing and then went in the car and laughed with Seb a minute. He finally called me over and I saw what he was laughing about. 666 RWHP. Now I knew about Dee's but Greg said he actually tuned another Z that came back with the same number.

We tried one more run to get me off that number but the car was heat soaked. It made 3 less RWHP but more torque. Greg says I am out of pump but he tried anyway. Colder conditions, another fuel pump and who knows. How come you never get to dyno in cooler conditions??

Anyways after the dyno we went back to Seb's. Seb asked Greg if he wanted to take me for a ride. I was like hell yeah. Not many times do I actually get to sit in the passenger seat in my own car. Greg says he was taking me to his secret location for a quick run. He asked if I was ready and I said yeah. I should have said no. Never in a million years would I ever imagine my car would be that fast. I was pinned, my stomach dropped and I lost my breath. Greg was laughing and said yeah I got a monster. Then he proceeded to tell me my tires are worthless. I agree. Time to put the new ones on. Now I did tell Greg if my car can do this I could never imagine how his car must ride. Greg just smiles and says yep, I can be doing a 150 and punch it and they'll break loose. I ask him has he ever spun out from so much power. He looks at me, smiles and says "oh yeah" real non nonchalantly.

We went back to Sebs and said our goodbyes. Greg said go have fun with that Q16 I still had left. I obliged. Ran it all the way till the light came on and then switched back to my 91 map. The 16 bit controller is cool and has 2 safety features I love. Best thing I ever paid for.

In retrospect I got more out of this trip than I ever imagined. I got my car dialed in and tuned by Specialty Z, met a bunch of cool Z guys, learned so much in the short amount of time I was there and more importantly made new friends. I was leaving and Seb called to say he saw me driving and wanted to know how the car was. He did this twice. Now that is customer service in my book. I would recommend Specialty Z to anybody. I drove 400 miles to have them work on my car. I would have drove 4000.

Greg and Seb, you guys are great. I am already in preparation for another trip to dial in that 100 octane tune and see what else we can do. Thanks for everything. (including busting Dean's chops a little. Just kidding Dean. Nice meeting you, Billy and Brian)

Seb says he will post my dyno graphs when he gets a chance.

P.S. Sorry for having my head up my ass Seb. It's in the mail. Mailed it out last night. I guess I was distracted Thursday night. You know why. Lol.....

Hey Kyle. Nice job on that stage 6 motor. Greg said it is strong. He said that multiple times. Should take me to where I want to go safely. Thanks again.

Thanks TT.Net and sorry for the long read.

Jason............
